Ka tō he rā, ka whiti he rāʻ After rain must come sun
Many of the women and children supported by the Christchurch Aunties have suffered the darkest of times. Thank you for being part of the sunshine that brightens their day, lightens their load and helps them on their way. Whether you gift your time, your energy, household goods, toiletries or cash, your contribution is acknowledged and valued. We simply cannot do it without all of you and your very big hearts:-) Arohatinonui,

New Board Appointments
It's excitement tinged with sadness, as we farewell an era in the Christchurch Aunties history, and welcome our new board appointments. With the relocation of Sati R to Wellington and one of our original board members, Heather L stepping away after 7.5 years, the Aunties board will look a little different. We wanted to extend heartfelt thanks to both Heather and Sati for their devotion and tireless efforts in helping to develop the Aunties into what we know and love today. We are pleased to introduce our new board members, Bernie and Sasha, who come to us with an awesome skillset, talents, and passions to ensure we continue to serve the community with the same commitment the Aunties are renowned for. Bernie is a business owner and Sasha is currently studying at UC. You can read their bios here
We know they are both looking forward to being a invaluable part of the Christchurch Aunties mahi.

Grace Millane loved handbags. She hada life to live. After her violent death the Millane family, in managing their grief, formed the 'Love Grace' handbag appeal in the UK. The Millane's honoured Grace's legacy with a charity that collected handbags full of necessities from everyday people, and donated them to women's refuges. In it's 3rd year in New Zealand, The Christchurch Aunties, once again had the privilege of collaborating with BNZ in the annual handbag campaign. I's with a ton of appreciation and overwhelm, we acknowledge the enormous part you played in another successful appeal. You reacted, shared, and rallied round to gift handbags of all shapes and sizes, and you filled them with much aroha, essentials and treats. We are sincerely in awe of the power of a collective, who are set to make a difference...and make a difference you did! 265 handbags have been gifted to Canterbury refuges to keep Grace's legacy alive.
Can You Shout Us the Cost of a Coffee
Although we like to keep things simple, we rely solely on the generous support of our community, to keep our organisation ticking over.
The requests we receive, from the organisations we support, can be simply personal items, to get through the coming days, or they can be an entire house lot of furniture, to set up an empty house and make a completely fresh start.
Our donations come in all shapes and sizes too, and even the little ones soon mount up!
We would love you to extend your support to help us with our ongoing operational costs, in any way you can,
This keeps us on the road to keep our warehouse stocked and helps us get much needed essentials to families, exactly when they are needed. It helps us keep in touch with you too, and will soon help us employee a logistics team member to keep pace with the growth in the family harm sector.
With nearly 5900 supporters you only need to donate; 1 cup of coffee @ $5 each, to make some real magic happen!
If you'd like to set up a weekly or monthly auto payment, even better! 💕 Why not get your friends to shout us the cost of a cup or 2, too,
We've changed our bank account details
As we strive to match the needs of the family violence sector, our governance board made the call to reduce several working accounts into one. Any administrative change is not without its hiccups and we wanted to ensure the automatic paymentsset up by our awesome regular donors continued to come through to support our families. If you had a regular donation in place to support the Christchurch Aunties, please check this isn't bouncing back to you. You will need to reset your AP with our new details.- Much aroha new bank account details Kiwibank Christchurch Aunties 38-9023-0645654-00
New Donation Form
We are currently trialling a new 'Donation Form' which we hope will be easier for everyone. It will walk you through the steps, letting us know if you want to donate goods, time or money. It will allow us to have all the donation details in the one place, to streamline our efforts, and will answer those questions we're often asked. It will also enable us to be more connected to our community and give us valuable insight into your needs and those of the agencies we support. We hope it's another small step in some anticipated big growth, and we are so glad you are on this journey with us. Let us know what you think of the form and if it meets your needs. We love feedback ! firstname.lastname@example.org
